Mission Statement

Our mission building strong and prosperous Black communities that are self-reliant and able to effectively represent themselves. We work to develop and nurture passionate and capable leaders to spearhead initiatives that create positive impact in the African American community.

Vision

We visualize the cultivation of robust, thriving, and self-sufficient black families and communities.

Who We Are

The Union of Black America represents a collective of individuals and entities with a deep commitment to the welfare of the black community. Our network is a new and vibrant alliance of passionate change agents committed to harnessing the collective strength of the entire black community in order to ignite profound transformations within our communities.

Our aim is to foster unity, leadership, and collective action among African Americans to address pressing challenges affecting our communities and promote the advancement and prosperity of black communities everywhere.

Our unionization approach offers Black Americans the most promising pathway to amassing sufficient influence, thereby fostering improved living conditions, social advancement, and enhanced political and economic opportunities. UBA is committed to delivering benefits and opportunities to our members through collective investments, social and educational initiatives, community engagements, and more.

The Union of Black America lives up to its name, functioning as a social union akin to labor, industrial, trade, and professional unions. However, the UBA has innovatively restructured the concept of unionization to effectively serve the social, economic, and political interests of the Black American Community.

What We Do

The UBA provides a platform for black people to come together and engage in solution-oriented discussions about issues that matter to us. Through collaboration, we develop and implement strategic action plans to address our priorities.

The U.B.A collaborates closely with its members, volunteers, donors, and community advocates to identify particular issues within the Black community, and proactively devise strategies aimed at achieving substantial and enduring progress in pursuit of our objectives. The U.B.A. subsequently allocates resources and champions initiatives geared toward advancing our goals.

Community Engagement

We believe that to address the challenges of our time, it is imperative to fortify our community bonds. We achieve this through active participation in constructive endeavors and family-centered initiatives within our local communities. Moreover, we are deeply dedicated to building strong community bonds with allies, advocates, and diverse communities, recognizing that collaboration and solidarity across various groups are essential for achieving shared goals.

Differentiators

The UBA stands alone as a unique organization. It represents a significant and long-awaited response to the need for a united and organized movement within the Black community grounded in love, pride, and personal agency. The UBA serves as a tool through which we seek to harness our collective inner strength, ultimately empowering our community to take control of its own destiny.

Bold New Approach

Numerous organizations advocate for social change, yet few possess the deliberate, unified, and coordinated approach essential for success. The UBA adheres to a proven philosophy: we understand that success hinges on organized structures, numerical strength, solidarity, and robust community alliances, the very foundations upon which enduring unions and movements are built. As the UBA continues to grow, communities throughout the United States will witness a transformation toward interdependence and the broadening of economic, political, and social influence.

New Leadership Style

Integrity distinguishes genuine leaders from self-serving politicians. UBA officials are held to exacting standards, undergoing meticulous vetting, and earning their positions through votes cast by the membership body, board of directors, and nominating committee. We anticipate our leaders will exemplify values that prioritize the black community over personal, financial, or political gain. At the UBA, we unwaveringly champion black empowerment, self-love, pride, and cooperation. We have adopted a leadership philosophy that embraces the belief that 'everyone leads.' This philosophy empowers each individual to leverage their existing levels of influence in daily life to inspire others. By practicing our core values, showing up, standing up, and speaking up in solidarity with the UBA whenever possible, we collectively strengthen our community.

Transparency and Diplomacy

The Union operates under its established bylaws. UBA members participate in voting on union initiatives and the election of officers. The presence of checks and balances within the Union guarantees transparency and accountability.

Friends and Allies

The UBA was designed to foster unity and empowerment among African Americans. The UBA upholds a non-discriminatory stance, valuing individuals regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disabilities.

We invite allies from outside the black community to contribute to the protection of this space and engage as respected supporters via our “Ally” membership. We have a strong appreciation for all of our allies that stand in fellowship & solidarity with the UBA. Special thanks for your interest in becoming a Friend of the Union. You are welcome here.
